Common questions

Before you get in touch

How much does it cost to have you come out?

The service price is listed against every job on the mobile services page. On top of that there is an operations fee, calculated from the nearest dispatch point at $6.25 per mile and starting at $55. It covers bringing the full workshop to your address. Neighborhood Service days carry no travel fee at all.

Do you service bikes you did not sell?

Yes, almost everything we work on came from somewhere else. On e-bikes we hold dealer authorization for Bosch, Shimano, SRAM, Fazua, TQ and Mahle, so diagnostics and firmware run with real manufacturer keys no matter where the bike was bought.

I do not know what my bike needs. Where do I start?

Book a 360 diagnostic. It is $25 on a standard bike and $35 on an e-bike, and it gives you a full component health check with estimated lifespans, so you can decide what to do next with real information. Note that the diagnostic fee is a standalone charge and is not credited toward other labour or parts.

Are parts included in the prices you list?

No. Unless it is stated in a written estimate, all quoted service prices refer to labour only. Cables, housing, brake pads, drivetrain components and protection kits are billed separately and always quoted before we fit them.

Can I supply my own parts?

Yes, but read this one carefully. We offer no warranty, guarantee or liability of any kind on parts, components, accessories or fluids we did not supply ourselves.

More importantly, if a customer-supplied or third-party item is installed, paired or mixed with our labour, all warranties on the entire bicycle are permanently voided — not just on that part, and not just on the system it touches.

And if a part turns out to be incorrect, damaged or incompatible once we are into the job, the standard evaluation fee applies in addition to any labour already performed. The full clause is in our terms and conditions.

Where do you need to park?

Somewhere safe, legal and big enough for the van and an enclosed trailer. Worth a look before you book, because it is the one thing that can stop a visit going ahead.

If the technician arrives and the spot is unsafe, inaccessible or illegal to park in — a steep incline, blocking traffic, an HOA restriction, or genuinely hazardous weather — we may ask you to bring the bike somewhere workable, or decline to carry out the service. If the job cannot happen for that reason, the operations fee still applies.

Not sure your street works? Call and describe it before booking, and we will tell you straight.

Is there anything you will not service?

Two things on e-bikes. We refuse service on any battery that is swollen, damaged, tampered with or non-certified, because the fire risk is genuine and not worth taking in a trailer full of tools.

We also do not service, install or tune any e-bike fitted with an aftermarket speed-limit bypass device. If a derestrictor is found once work has started, we stop there, and the evaluation fee and operations fee both apply.

Firmware is worth a note too. Some services require a manufacturer update, and we cannot be responsible for performance changes or failures that come from the manufacturer's own software. We tell you before running one.

What is Neighborhood Services and how do I get on the list?

We park the mobile workshop in one neighborhood on a set day and riders walk their bikes over, which removes the travel fee and brings the rates down. Dates are published with the location and the number of open slots. If your area is not scheduled yet, request it — that is how the route gets built.

Can you take the bike away instead?

Yes. Pick-up and delivery is free for Apollo Beach and Ruskin residents, and $3.25 per mile one way outside those two, with a $25 base appointment. It is the right choice for suspension rebuilds and full drivetrain installations, which want a bench.

Book online and see the price before you confirm, or call and talk it through with a technician first.
